MRC Policies

The Board of Governors has adopted certain rules in order to preserve and protect the traditions and special environment of the Mill Reef Club. Members, guests and children are asked to abide by these rules. In addition, members and guests are expected to be respectful and courteous in all interactions with Mill Reef Club staff. 

DRESS CODE 

Daytime: Casual beach attire, cover-ups, shirts, shoes, flip-flops, sneakers. No thongs for ladies or bikinis for gentlemen. No denim, cargo pants, blue jeans, cutoffs, short shorts, tank tops, 

men’s sleeveless shirts, or the backward wearing of ball caps. Gentlemen and children remove hats and caps in the Club and Beach House dining and bar areas. Shirts are required while driving a vehicle or golf cart. 

Lunch: Footwear is not required. 

After 7pm: Ladies wear dresses, shirts, and long pants; no shorts, bare midriffs or flip-flops. Men wear long pants, a tucked-in collared dress shirt and a jacket. No polo shirts, open-toed shoes, or sneakers.

Wednesday Barbeque and Beach House Dinner: Jackets are not required. Gentlemen may wear island-style or polo shirts with long pants. No shorts, denim or flip-flops. 

Tennis: All white tennis clothing including hats and socks (minimal trim) is required. Plain white t-shirts are acceptable. No running shoes or cross trainers. No bare midriffs. 

Golf: Gentlemen wear full-length walking shorts and collared shirts. No cargo shorts or bathing suits. Ladies wear shorts, skirts, sports blouses, or collared shirts. Shoes: Golf or tennis shoes; no metal spikes. 

Croquet: Cover-ups and t-shirts are required. 

ELECTRONIC DEVICES 

Electronic devices must be in silent mode and are only permitted in select public areas as indicated below. 

  1. a) Telephone calls are restricted to your room or car when away from the Clubhouse. 

  1. b) Reading is permitted on beaches before 6pm on the Bodmer Terrace and in the Ward Room. 

  1. c) Texting and emailing are permitted before 6pm on the Bodmer Terrace and in the Ward Room. Texting is prohibited on our beaches. 

  1. d) Devices may not be used on beaches for communication. This includes texting, emailing, or talking on a phone. 

  1. e) Devices with ear buds or earphones may be listened to on beaches and while exercising. 

  1. f) Taking photographs is permitted, but please no geotags or mentions of MRC.

  1. g) Smartwatches may be used only to tell time.
